How to upgrade your EZCast to support iOS 13

With the release of iOS 13, we want to reiterate the importance of upgrading your EZCast firmware to support iOS native screen mirroring.

You need to download and install the EZCast app before upgrading your dongles.

Please refer to the videos below for the upgrade procedures using EZCast app settings.

The above method applies to current generation EZCast dongles, including EZCast Compact, EZCast 2 and EZCast 4K.

Please note that you need an iPhone running either iOS 11 or iOS 10 to execute the upgrade.

Once you the EZCast Wire supports the latest iOS, you can play your favorite media on an iPhone.

Upgrading without an iPhone

If you are like me, you may have already upgraded your iPhone to iOS 12 the minute it became publicly available, then you can’t use the above methods to upgrade your EZCast Wire dongles.

The first step is to download a Windows PC tool from EZCast that can send the latest firmware to the dongle.

Then follow the steps shown in the video below to troubleshoot EZCast and complete the upgrade.
